Hi. I’m your photog.
And I’m excited to create together.
I’m Tyler; a queer photographer, creative director, and writer based out of Calgary, AB. I’m husband to an amazing spouse; dad to an incredible daughter; and big into reading books, riding motorcycles, and rummaging through old records.
I’ve been taking photos freelance for a while now, and have had a good number of my pictures bought and published. I suppose that makes me a professional photographer. Which feels sort of weird to come out and say, because I’ve only ever really thought of photography as a hobby.
Until now, that is.
I’ve decided to pivot my professional focus away from my usual work and towards boudoir photography — but I’m out to do things a bit differently than your typical homegrown outfit.
This is how we do it.
Bower and Bokeh goes beyond the norms of boudoir. Instead, I collaborate with my clients to tell stories and take vivid record of you — of who really you are — right here and right now.
The result is something altogether unique: a photo session that isn’t rushed or full of restrictions and costly add-ons; and photos that look like anything but boudoir to instead feel much more raw, real, and intimate.
Authentic.
Bower and Bokeh foregoes fake-feeling studios and contrived lists of poses to shoot you, in your home, being you. I capture you in your element, where you’re most comfortable, and engaged in moments that best tell the story of you.
Inclusive.
Inclusivity is a core part of Bower and Bokeh’s DNA. Boudoir is for everybody — regardless of race, creed, identity, sexuality, body type, or any other societal label. I firmly believe that everybody is beautiful and that every body is, too.
Uniquely stylish.
Inspired by my street photography roots, Bower and Bokeh trades prim and proper boudoir for a style much more dynamic and nimble. My shoots use a single camera, a flash, and that’s it — creating a singular vibe that feels distinctly nostalgic yet entirely of-the-moment at once.
